Invited Speakers:

Seeds are the foundation of agriculture and without high-quality seed, yields and crop quality would be greatly reduced. Seed quality plays a vital role in the production of horticultural crops and characteristics such as trueness to variety, high germination percentage, purity and vigor are important to the growers. Additionally, success of any production system also depends on quality of seedlings we are using and healthy transplants grown in a well-managed nursery will determine the yield and subsequently the profit.

The Symposium will be the 8th meeting of the biyearly symposium following the last meeting in South Africa in 2016 and it is expected to gather more than 100 scientists and professional horticulturists who will contribute through presenting papers and posters. The primary aim of the symposium is to promote research and other activities related to seeds and transplants, biotic and abiotic aspects in seed viability and seedling growth, transplanting and other practices that could improve the establishment of a healthy and vigorous crop from seed. The symposium will be an excellent platform to interact with researchers and colleagues from many different countries who are working on various aspects of seed and transplant quality. It will also provide opportunities to explore strategies and possibilities, discuss problems, new technologies and methods related to seeds and transplants.
