Assoc. Prof. Birsen ÇAKIR

Dr. Birsen ÇAKIR has obtained her PhD in plant molecular biology at University of Poitiers in France. She completed her post doctoral researches on the mechanism of toxicity of ribosome inactivating proteins (RIPs) at Rutgers University in USA. She is currently working at the department of Horticulture, Ege University in Turkey. Her research is focused on understanding the genetic regulation of fruit maturation, the effect of phytohormones and their transport on fruit development, plant defense mechanism in response to biotic as well as abiotic stresses.
